Lions Top 10 Injury News of 2025: #6 Terrion Arnold Shoulder
A tumultuous season for this Lions CB
Shoulder injuries unfortunately are comprising an outsized portion of the Lions Top 10 Injury News list. Previously at #9 was Marcus Davenport’s shoulder. Now, Terrion Arnold’s roller coaster of a shoulder injury is worthy of spot #6.
The Injury - Right shoulder
September 28, 2025: Arnold initially injured his right shoulder. He exited the game but was able to play in the next game…
October 5, 2025: … when he injured the shoulder again.
Here are videos of both incidents:
The initial report from Dan Campbell was that the shoulder was feared to be season-ending. However, after further expert opinions, good news was delivered and Arnold avoided injured reserve.
Arnold rehabbed and returned to play after missing just two games.
The good news didn’t last long though as in his second game back, he suffered a concussion.
November 9, 2025:
The concussion caused him to miss the next two games, which was longer than expected for a player without a significant concussion history - just a single documented concussion in college. I suspect that his lingering shoulder issue had something to do with the missed time.
November 27, 2025: In his very first game back from the concussion, Arnold aggravated his right shoulder again. This time, there was no saving his season as he was placed on IR and had surgery.
December 2025: Arnold underwent a second shoulder surgery for unknown reasons.
2025 Season Summary
In total, Arnold played in just eight games. He was able to snag one interception and had eight PBU during that time.
2026 Offseason
There were encouraging workout videos posted by Arnold during this offseason.
April 2026:
May 2026: In a slight disappointment, Arnold was still limited at OTA and minicamp. During June minicamp, he stated he was about 75-80% healthy.
2026 Outlook
Medically, Arnold should be fully ready for the start of the season. Entering his third year, he will be looking to prove his recovery from his shoulder surgeries, while also looking to prove his status as a 1st-round CB.
However, off-field problems have suddenly cast his future in serious doubt.
June 24, 2026: Arnold was arrested on four felony counts of kidnapping and four felony counts of armed robbery.
At this point, the prospects for Arnold’s season - and freedom - appear grim. Even if he avoids jail time, there is a good chance his tumultuous 2025 season was his last in a Lions’ uniform.
At #7 is a player who had a stellar career but won’t be seen in a Lions’ uniform again…
Lions Top 10 Injury News of 2025: #7 Frank Ragnow Hamstring
The surprise retirement of Pro-Bowl center Frank Ragnow in June of 2025 left behind a weakened offensive line. But then, like a burly phoenix rising from the ashes, Ragnow decided to come out of retirement in late November to save the Lions’ season.
