NFL Draft 2026: DT Medical Report - Jalen Hunt, Bobby Jamison-Travis, Tyler Onyedim
The Lions have had formal meetings with these 3 mid-late round prospects
The following three defensive lineman have all had formal meetings with the Lions, which means there is definite interest. One of them was in for a Top-30 visit which is often used to evaluate medical concerns. For two of these prospects, older age is a factor that Brad Holmes will take into account.
While the DT position scored a relatively low 4/10 on my Lions Defensive Positional Need Rankings, adding players to the trenches is never a bad idea.

Medical concern level ranges from 0 (no concern) to 5 (might be worth the risk if the reward is high) to 10 (take him off your board, Brad).
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information and are unverified - subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Quick summary of medical concern levels
Jalen Hunt, DT (25?): knee, foot, possible neck, other unspecified injuries, age - 8/10
Quientrail “Bobby” Jamison-Travis, DT (25?): clean, age - 3/10
Tyler Onyedim, DT (23): no significant injuries - 1/10
Jalen Hunt, DT (25?) - Cincinnati
Projected round 3-5. Top-30 visit with Lions.
Concern level 8/10
2025: 13/13 games
2024: 0 games. Unspecified knee injury, missed season.
2023: 12/12 games
2022: 7/12 games. Missed spring practice and 5 games due to unspecified injury.
2021: 11/13 games. Left foot injury.
2020: 5/7 games. Missed final 2 games with dual reports of left leg injury or neck injury.
This Detroit native has had a long college career starting in the Covid season at Michigan State. There are a lot of vague injuries to sort out with Hunt, which may be the primary reason the Lions brought him in for a Top-30 visit. His older age limits his ceiling, and adds to the injury residuals and mileage concerns.
On the optimistic side, he finished his college career with a reliable final season. Hunt collected 3.5 sacks and 8 TFL in his college career.
Quientrail “Bobby” Jamison-Travis, DT (25?) - Auburn
Projected round 5-7. Formal meeting with Lions at combine. Matt Miller’s #296 overall player.
Concern level 3/10
2025: 12/12 games
2024: 12/12 games
2023: 3 games
I did not find any reported injuries for Jamison-Travis which would make him very clean except for his older age. If the Lions are looking for an experienced player, then the age could be seen as a short-term benefit.
In his last three years of college, he totaled 1 sack and 4 TFL.
Tyler Onyedim, DT (23) - Texas A&M
Projected round 3. Formal meeting with Lions at combine. Matt Miller’s #92 overall player.
Concern level 1/10
2025: 13/13 games. Minor possible lower body injury.
2024: 13/14 games. Opted out of bowl due to transfer.
2023: 13/13 games
2022: 12/12 games
2021: 2
A 100% availability rate in his final four years of college along with an absence of any reported significant injuries makes for a very clean prospect. While his age is a tick higher than ideal, he would be a nice, low-risk pick for the Lions who have already shown interest.
Onyedim collected 5.5 sacks and 20.5 TFL in college.
More DT prospects including one the Lions need to avoid…
