NFL Draft 2026: CB Medical Report - Mansoor Delane, Devin Moore, Andre Fuller
Three CB's with groin or core muscle injuries to investigate
The following are three CB’s who have formally met with the Lions. Two had Top-30 visits. One had a formal meeting at the combine and might be the #1 CB in the draft. Could the Lions take actually take a CB in Round 1?
It would not be surprising for the Lions to take a CB early in the draft given the production and injury concerns of the returning players - detailed in my Lions Defensive Positional Need Rankings where I gave the position a 6/10 need score.
All three of these CB’s happen to have a history of core muscle or groin injuries which means that their abdominal medical evaluations will be key.

Medical concern level ranges from 0 (no concern) to 5 (might be worth the risk if the reward is high) to 10 (take him off your board, Brad).
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information and are unverified - subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Quick summary of medical concern levels
Mansoor Delane, CB (22): core muscle injury - 3/10
Devin Moore, CB (22): groin surgery, shoulder surgery, severe shoulder injury, concussion, back - 8/10
Andre Fuller, CB (24-25?): core muscle surgery, age - 5/10
Mansoor Delane, CB (22) - LSU
Projected early round 1. Daniel Jeremiah #9 overall player March 5. Formal meeting at combine with Lions.
Concern level 3/10
2025: 11/13 games. Played through core muscle injury since Week 4 and missed 1 game for it. Exited another game with unspecified injury. Opted out of bowl.
2024: 12/13 games
2023: 13/13 games
2022: 8/11games
A core muscle injury is a common injury among defensive backs. It’s something you can play through, but often requires surgery at some point. Ennis Rakestraw had core muscle surgery after his college career ended. Players generally do well after surgery and there isn’t much long-term concern as long as there is no hip involvement.
Delane did not work out at the NFL combine which does raise the concern a touch. He did have a limited workout at his pro day which is somewhat reassuring. Medical will need to evaluate the details of the injury and determine if surgery might be indicated.
Delane otherwise doesn’t have any other notable injuries and is at a good age. He finished with 8 INT and 27 PBU in college.
Devin Moore, CB (22) - Florida
Projected round 3-5. Ran 4.50 40 at combine. Matt Miller’s #114 overall player. Suspected Top-30 visit with Lions.
Concern level 8/10
2025: 11/12 games. Groin surgery after season on December 2025.
2024: 7/13 games. Season-ending shoulder injury.
2023: 7/12 games. Concussion & back injuries.
2022: 5/13 games. Season-ending shoulder surgery.
There are a lot of major injuries that have led to a lot of missed time for Moore. His most recent surgery for a groin was after his final college season which means there is no proof of recovery in a live game. A groin surgery has a good chance to be a “core muscle” injury.
Missing multiple games for concussion and back issues in 2023 is also something that needs investigation. Medical will want to determine how many concussions Moore has had in the past, and rule out any possible spinal issue for the back injury.
Recurrent shoulder issues, which includes at least one surgery, could present a reliability problem.
The Lions already have two CB’s (Terrion Arnold, Ennis Rakestraw) recovering from shoulder surgeries and probably want to avoid adding more shoulder uncertainty to the group. But the fact that they brought Moore in for a visit means that there is interest - if all his medicals can check out.
Moore finished with 5 INT and 8 PBU in college.
Andre Fuller, CB (24-25?) - Toledo
Projected round 7. Ran 4.49 40 at combine. Matt Miller’s #254 overall player. Top-30 visit with Lions.
Concern level 5/10
2025: 13/13 games
2024: 0 games. Core muscle surgery before season.
2023: 14/14 games
2022: 14/14 games
2020-2021 (Arkansas - Pine Bluff)
See my previous analysis with Mansoor Delane regarding core muscle injuries. Fuller has a proven year of college after his surgery which is reassuring. While there is a recurrence risk for a core muscle injury, it’s not a major concern as long as the injury was isolated and there is no hip joint issue.
What raises his concern is his age, which is advanced due to six years in college. In his three full seasons at Toledo, he compiled 1 INT and 16 PBU.
The medical report concerns on one of the other top CB’s in the draft, Jermod McCoy…
