The Detroit Lions head into the desert in good shape from a health standpoint. Coming out of the last game, the only new issue to a starter is Tyleik Williams’ foot - and that is nothing long-term.
On the other side, the Arizona Cardinals suffered two losses along the starting offensive line in their last game. Can the Lions defense take advantage of this and make some plays? If not, then there could be some major changes that occur during the bye week for the players and the coaching staff.
From a fan standpoint, the game before the bye week is always one of the most important games of the year, as the vibes - happy or angry - will linger for two whole weeks…

*Current starter
DETROIT LIONS (line -5.5, open -5)
🔴 *Cade Mays, C - Right wrist fracture (August 9)
Mays will almost certainly be ready for Week 7 after the bye.
🔴 *Brian Branch, S - Right Achilles (December 4, 2025)
Branch will very likely be ready for Week 7 after the bye.
🔴 Rock Ya-Sin, CB - Hamstring
The severity of this hamstring is unknown and Ya-Sin did not practice at all this week, which means he is on IR-watch this weekend.
🔴 Ben Bartch, OG - Foot
Bartch will miss his third straight game after another week of no-practices.
🟡 *Tyleik Williams, DT - Foot
Projection: Toss-up

A contusion (bruise) is pretty much the best-case scenario for a foot injury. If we take Tyleik at his word, then there is a good chance he is in.
However, it would be far from the first time that a Lions player expressed optimism to a reporter during the week, only to sit out. The lack of a full practice raises some doubt. If it truly is only a bruise, then there is minimal risk to playing. If there is also a mild sprain involved, then it might be wise to sit him. Feet can be tricky.
Here is the play in the early 3rd quarter of last game where Tyleik got up limping…
It’s reassuring that he finished out the game with no signs of issue.
Last year, 78% of Lions “questionables” played. This year, it’s 67% (2 of 3).
🟢 *DJ Wonnum, EDGE - Back
Wonnum is playing through a presumed minor back issue for the second straight week. He picked up a sack last game and has three sacks on the year.
