NFL Draft 2026: CB Medical Report - Keith Abney, Davison Igbinosun, Chandler Rivers
The cleanest trifecta of this entire draft process
For the Lions, the CB position is a sneaky need (6/10) in part due to injury concerns as detailed in my Lions Defensive Positional Needs Rankings. This means that Lions fans should brace for a CB selection in potentially any round.
The following three CB’s are all projected to go within the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. What may boost the draft stock of all three is the absence of medical concerns, which makes this group the collective cleanest in all my draft analyses.

Medical concern level ranges from 0 (no concern) to 5 (might be worth the risk if the reward is high) to 10 (take him off your board, Brad).
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information and are unverified - subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Quick summary of medical concern levels
Keith Abney, CB (21): hand? - 0/10
Davison Igbinosun, CB (22): clean, 100% availability - 0/10
Chandler Rivers, CB (22): clean, 100% availability - 0/10
Keith Abney, CB (21)
Projected round 2-3. #43 on Jeff Risdon board Feb 19.
Concern level 0/10
2025: 12/13 games. Opted out of bowl. Possible hand injury, played through with cast.
2024: 14/14 games
2023: 8/12 games
There is an isolated report of a hand injury but no corroborating information. Even if the hand injury is true, that’s of minimal to no long-term concern.
His availability in his final two seasons has been perfect. Overall, Abney appears to be medically clean and is at an excellent age.
He finished college with 6 INT and 21 PBU.
Davison Igbinosun, CB (22) - Ohio State
Projected round 2-3. #56 on Jeff Risdon board Feb 19.
Concern level 0/10
2025: 14/14 games
2024: 16/16 games
2023: 13/13 games
2022: 13/13 games
A 100% record of availability with no reported injuries and a young age make Igbinosun one of the cleanest prospects in the draft.
He finished college with 4 INT and 27 PBU.
Chandler Rivers, CB (22) - Duke
Projected round 2-3. #52 on Jeff Risdon board Feb 19.
Concern level 0/10
2025: 13/14 games. Opted out of bowl.
2024: 13/13 games
2023: 13/13 games
2022: 13/13 games
Number 13 is lucky for Rivers as that’s the number of games he’s played in each of his four years of college. His 100% availability record is impressive. The lack of any reported injuries plus his young age add up to a very clean prospect.
He finished with 7 INT and 29 PBU.
